Airlines in the US have enjoyed a resurgence in passenger numbers, and domestic traffic has recovered to about 85% of pre-pandemic levels. This has increased the number of aircraft in active service, aircraft utilisation rates, and consequently passenger yields. Except for United, all US majors and LCCs generated operating profits in the 2Q 2021.
