There are more than 5,000 CFM56-7Bs in operation, operating in a wide variety of conditions and ambient temperatures. The removal intervals, engine maintenance management, shop visit workscope pattern, shop visit inputs, maintenance costs, and maintenance reserves for the -7B20, -7B22, -7B24, -7B26 and -7B27 variants are examined at an average engine flight cycle (EFC) time of 1.9 engine flight hours (EFH). The benefits of longer removal intervals achieved for higher rated -7B26 and -7B27 variants are analysed.
