The fuel burn performance & costs of turboprops vs RJs, Issue 88 Jun/Jul 2013

The steady rise of fuel prices over the past 10 years has caused a resurgence of turboprop orders. The fuel burn performance and unit fuel costs per ASM of currently available turboprops are compared with equal-sized RJs on routes between 170nm & 650nm at three different fuel prices. This illustrates the turboprops’ superior unit fuel costs.
