Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as ‘3-D printing’ – is the latest process revolutionising parts manufacturing. The concept is now extrending into engine production, with several manufacturers emphasising the long-term potential AM has for the industey. The types of AM in use, and the effects they may have on the future of manufacturing, is explored here.
