Fleet planning for Africa, Issue 31 Oct/Nov 2003

Despite a history of political and economic troubles, Africa is forecast to
become a major growth region over the next 15 years. Fleets are old because
of airlines’ difficulty in financing new fleets. The region has a small number
of strong airlines, and predictions are they will require up to 1,000 aircraft.
