Using MRO IT systems to optimise rotable inventories, Issue 69 April/May 2010

Airlines now have the ability to track individual rotable parts and entire inventories using MRO IT systems. This has the advantage of being able to follow various technical parameters, such as the mean time between removal and rate of no fault found. The systems have the benefit of making it possible to claim all warranties. Ultimately, the systems can be used to determine optimumm stock levels, and identify obsolete and surplus stocks.
