CFMI LEAP-X: Initial assessment, Issue 74 Feb/Mar 2011

CFMI has chosen to develop a conventional turbofan engine that delivers a high bypass ratio that is delivered through a wide, slow turning intake fan driven by a core producing a pressure ratio of 20:1. The engine is expected to to be 15% more fuel efficient than its predecessors.
